SPECIAL CONDITIONS FOR A MIRACLE
(no particular order, and not an exhaustive list of
Scriptures, by any means)

stained glass window with words, As discussed in How To Stand On God's Promises, we as believers must immerse ourselves in specific promises of Scripture so that our faith will grow and be ripe to receive miracles.  However, as we do so, we must make sure to observe special conditions. Then we can rest with confidence that a faithful (2 Tim.2:13), promise-keeping God will fulfill His part at the right time.

Here follow a dozen or so conditions to bear in mind as you stand on God's Word to claim your miracle.

To receive healing or other miraculous answer to prayer, there must be no known sin in our lives.  If you have sin in your heart (i.e. hatred, bitterness, jealousy, or lust, for example), ask the Lord for His forgiveness and fully repent by doing the necessary rearranging of schedule, habits, associations, etc...  Then you can approach God with a clean, clear conscience "in full assurance of faith" (Heb.10:22).  Also, remember that sin often directly causes sickness.
Ps.66:18
1 John 3:21-22
Deut.28:15+21-22+27-28+35

Importance of a disciplined diet and lifestyle for good health; we must be faithful stewards of the bodies God has given us:
Dan.1:15
1 Cor.3:16-17
1 Cor.6:12-13+18-20
Gal.5:16-17+24
Gal.6:7-8
1 Pet.4:1-3+7
Phil.3:18-19
Romans 1:27b
Romans 8:12-13

There are many Scriptures available to combat fear; this is an important area to gain victory in when you are dangerously ill or in desperate need of some other miracle:
Joshua 1:9
Ps.112:4+7-8
2 Timothy 1:7

We must also bind the devil who is attacking us with sickness or other problems:
Mt.12:29
Mt.18:18
Lk.10:20  ("...the spirits are subject to you.")
2 Cor.10:3-6
Ephesians 6:10-18
James 4:7
1 Peter 5:8-9
Isaiah 54:17
Similarly, in your prayers, by faith cover everything you have with the blood of Jesus for protection, just as the Israelites covered their door frames in Exodus 11:7+13 with the blood of the sacrificial lamb to keep out the destroyer.

Watch your tongue!  It is surprising the relationship between the tongue and disease or other troubles!  Don't voice any negative doubts or fears you may have and so give the devil a foothold in your situation.  Talk positively and optimistically!
Prov.18:20-21
Prov.12:14
Eccl.5:2+6a -- "Do not let your mouth lead you into sin."
Mt.12:36-37

Make sure you are tithing (i.e. giving 10% of your gross income to the church at which you are taught God's Word) and giving generously to others in need, even if you must sacrifice to do so. (1Kings 17:11-16)  Also, be wise in how you handle money (do not live beyond your means and honor your financial commitments)). (Lk.16:11)  Beware of greed and covetuousness (see our tract, The Love of Money). And, lastly, many people have given testimony that God has richly blessed their finances when they gave to further the Gospel going out to Jewish people. This Scriptural principle began in Genesis 12:3 when God said to Abraham, "I will bless those who bless you (and whoever curses you I will curse)." All these points are especially true if the area you're believing God for is finances.
Ps.41:1
Malachi 3:8-12
Luke 6:38

The power of praise:
Praise hastens healing and all manner of miracles.  Many of God's children lack breakthroughs because they neglect the victorious secret of praising God before the answer comes!  Unlike the Israelites, learn to praise God before your "Red Sea" parts, not just afterwards! (Ex.14:10-12 and Ex.15:1-21)  The devil fears expectant praise more than anything else.  Silent prayers or praises have no place here.  The stronghold of the enemy, like the walls of Jericho (Joshua 6:20), will fall only with a shout of victory.  Discipline your lips to praise the Lord.  You will enjoy good health and abundant blessings, and keep Heaven busy working in your behalf.  Our Divine Promiser will see that the prayer of faith, energized by the song of triumph, shall save the sick, keep the healthy, and answer prayers!
Nehemiah 8:10c
Ps.47:1+6
Ps.50:23
Ps.69:30-31
Ps. 77:6  (re: songs in the night)
Ps.100:4
Ps.107:17-22
Jonah 2:9
Heb.13:15

Do your part of promises!
Will God do what you've asked Him to? Well, have you done what He's asked you to?!  If there is a part of a Bible promise which depends upon your action, you must be willing to do it.  (Also obey anything else the Holy Spirit prompts you to do.)  Follow through!  If it says "pray", then pray.  If it says "believe", as it does in Mark 11:24, then that's what you must do -- you must believe in order to expect God to act.  If it says "forgive", as it does in Mark 11:25, then that's what you must do -- you must forgive in order to expect God to act. (See Mark 11)

Take each promise to mean just exactly what it says.  Don't try to interpret it or add to it or read between the lines.  Accept it literally.  God will do His part if you do yours.  God cannot and will not break one of His promises.

Fasting, especially for hard cases:
Joel 1:14
Joel 2:12
Mt.6:17-18
Mt.17:21KJV and Mark 9:29 KJV
Mk.2:20
Luke 4:2
(Luke 9:23-24)
Acts 13:2-3
2 Cor.11:27

Pray with faith and perseverance.  DON'T GIVE UP, even if your answer is long in coming! God's delay does not mean God's denial!
This point is perhaps the most important of all these conditions.  Remember that there can be no testimony without a test of your faith!  Once you determine to believe God in a matter, you may experience yet more trials.  However, sooner or later you will rise like cream to the top!  (See Deuteronomy 28:1-14.)  Just hold on and trust God and persevere for as long as it takes (see Mary Tetreault's Story, Part Two).  Hebrews 6:11-12 KJV tells us, "...And we desire that every one of you do show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end.  That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises."  Pace yourself in trusting God; demonstrate endurance and length of spirit.

Sometimes there is a delay before the fruit of our prayers becomes apparent to us, but God has already answered.  Galatians 6:9 says, "Do not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season you shall reap if you faint not."  God may be carefully shifting circumstances or people around for our good, or perhaps our continued prayers are needed to push through the devil's interference (as was the case in the book of Daniel, chapter 10, verses 12-14). However, as you see from Scripture, God loves His people very much. He longs to answer their prayers [see The Question of God's Will], but waits until the best possible moment.  After you have done all that you can do, stand your ground according to Eph. 6:13.
Ps.55:17
Isa.62:6-7
Daniel 10:12-14a
Lk.11:8-10  (NOTE: The original Greek here means to keep on asking, to keep on seeking, and to keep on knocking!)
Lk.18:7-8
Gal.6:9
Heb.6:12
Heb.10:35-36

Surround yourself with other Christians who feed your faith -- who believe in miracles and live expecting them. Try to avoid discussing your dream with doubters and pessimists! Remember in Luke 8:51-54,KJV (& Mark 5:38-40) how some unbelieving onlookers laughed and scoffed at Jesus, and how he sent them out of the room before He could perform a miracle.
Mt.18:19
Mt. 9:29 — "According to (your) faith will it be done to you."

Seek first God's Kingdom and His righteousness.  As you keep your life pure and take care of God's business (i.e. preaching the Gospel and helping hurting people), He will take care of yours.  See Mt.6:33.

All these same principles can be used with any Scripture promises and when believing God for any needs.  Some common needs God wants to meet are:

physical healing
financial provision
healing of a barren womb
to combat fear
resolution of marital troubles
salvation of loved ones
restoration of wayward, rebellious children
employment
help for loneliness
victory over sin
protection
need for direction/guidance
need for wisdom
hope in times of discouragement
restored relationships
etc.

Whatever the need of the moment, the answer is to be found in Scripture, but we must take the time to search for it, memorize it and obey it.

A Bible concordance or "promise book" is a good place to find Scripture promises pertaining to your specific need or situation.  Topical Bibles or other Bible helps can also be useful in arming yourself with ammunition to fight for your  miracles!
