FINANCIAL SCRIPTURE PROMISES

money bagThis is a very incomplete list! Someone** once said there are 34,000 promises in God's Word.  What a treasure is this immense constellation of promises!! As you seek Him and study the Bible, God will give you your own arsenal of powerfulgold coins Scriptures to work miracles if you are lacking money for your needs. But, for God's promises to work in this realm, make sure 1) you have no unconfessed sin in your life; 2) you are tithing to God's house; 3) you are being wise in how you handle money (do not live beyond your means and honor your financial commitments); and 4) you are giving regularly and generously to others in need, no matter how poor you are (remember the case of the widow in 1 Kings 17:11-16 who shared sacrificially with Elijah, and then after received a miracle).

Many people have also given testimony that God has richly blessed their finances when they gave to further the Gospel going out to Jewish people. This Scriptural principle began in Genesis 12:3 when God said to Abraham, "I will bless those who bless you (and whoever curses you I will curse)."

Lastly, beware of greed and covetuousness. Yes, God certainly wants to meet your need, but not your greed. See Luke 12:15 below, as well as our tract, The Love of Money, and many other Scriptures (Ex.20:3-4+17; Eccl.5:10-13; Mt.6:24; 1 Timothy 6:10; Hebrews 13:5).

And he said to them, "Take heed, and beware of all covetousness; for a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."... So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God."    Luke 12:15+21
"For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that by his poverty you might become rich. And in this matter I give my advice: it is best for you now to complete what a year ago you began not only to do but to desire, so that your readiness in desiring it may be matched by your completing it out of what you have. For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what a man has, not according to what he has not. I do not mean that others should be eased and you burdened, but that as a matter of equality your abundance at the present time should supply their want, so that their abundance may supply your want, that there may be equality. As it is written, "He who gathered much had nothing over, and he who gathered little had no lack."     2 Cor.8:9-15 (and Ex.16:18)
"Remember this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously...having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written, 'He has scattered abroad His gifts to the poor...Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion."      2 Cor.9:6+8b+9a+10-11

"And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus."

(The Philippians gave to Paul generously, and so Paul could say the above statement.)    Phil.4:19

And he said to his disciples, "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you shall eat, nor about your body, what you shall put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds! And which of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his span of life? If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest? Consider the lilies, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass which is alive in the field today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O men of little faith! And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be of anxious mind. For all the nations of the world seek these things; and your Father knows that you need them. Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things shall be yours as well. "Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions, and give alms; provide yourselves with purses that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.    Luke 12:22-34

"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink, nor about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O men of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the Gentiles seek all these things; and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be yours as well. "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Let the day's own trouble be sufficient for the day.    Matt.6:19-34
